Dr. Richard Abrams has practiced Internal Medicine in Denver, Colorado for over 30 years and has been listed in Best Doctors in America since 1995. Dr. Abrams’ interest in preventive health led him to found Colorado Preventive Medicine in 2006. Since then, more than 1,000 busy, health-conscious, people have participated in the program.
Dr. Abrams also serves on the clinical faculty at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He has written and edited 5 medical books and numerous articles. His book, Will It Hurt the Baby, was featured on the NBC Today Show, ABC Good Morning America, and CBS This Morning.
Dr. Aria Mohtadi comes to CPM after working for 18 months as a hospital medicine physician at Rose Medical Center. He graduated from Rush Medical College in Chicago and later completed his internal medicine residency at Rush University Medical Center. Before medical school, he worked as an investment banker and completed his business administration degree at the University of Michigan in 2003.
During his residency, Dr. Mohtadi noticed that many medical problems can often be reversed with intensive lifestyle changes. For this reason, he has chosen to focus on preventive medicine to maximize his patients’ health with particular interests in diet, exercise, sleep, and stress reduction as cornerstones to health. In his free time, he enjoys watching Michigan football, world travel, and scuba diving.
Dr. Sara Diaz has been a practicing family physician since 2011, she is double board certified in both Family Medicine and Integrative Medicine. She is originally from Indianapolis, obtaining her undergraduate degree from Indiana University and then her medical degree at Des Moines University in Iowa. She completed her family medicine residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Denver. The beginning of her career was spent practicing outpatient women’s health before transitioning to academic family medicine. She has been on faculty at residency programs in both Indiana and Colorado, most recently serving as adjunct faculty and fellowship director of Integrative Medicine at St. Anthony North. She specifically enjoys the areas of women’s health, perimenopausal care, and preventive/lifestyle medicine. She values ongoing authentic relationships with her patients and enjoys partnering to develop the best-personalized strategy for health and well-being. Her free time is spent with her two young children and husband, playing music, cooking, and traveling.
Kim Huffman is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a focus in Internal Medicine. She is originally from Nebraska and graduated from Creighton University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2008. She worked as an Oncology Nurse at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California for two years before transitioning to a Cardiac Nurse here at Rose in 2010. She received her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2014 from Regis University. As an FNP, Kim is trained in family-centric general health care. Kim performs preventive, diagnostic, and treatment procedures for a variety of acute and chronic diseases, conditions, and injuries.
